Upgrading from Ver 2.35 or Later
HourWorldΓäó 2.53 includes routines for automatic upgrade from previous versions 2.35
and later. If you are upgrading from a version of HourWorldΓäó earlier than 2.35, or are
running HourWorld for the first time, please read the chapter on Initial Setup.
HourWorldΓäó versions 2.10 and later maintain a file named "HourWorldΓäó Prefs" inside
the preference folder inside the system folder on your startup drive. If you are currently
using one of these earlier versions of HourWorldΓäó, this preferences file will provide the
information needed to set up version 2.52 properly, keeping the same settings you had in
your earlier version.
Open HourWorldΓäó version 2.53 either by double-clicking on its icon or selecting it
from the Apple menu, if you installed it there. If HourWorld opens to its full size and
displays the same settings you were using in the earlier version, then upgrading is
complete. Read no further in this chapter.

If HourWorldΓäó 2.53 does not find a valid "HourWorldΓäó Prefs" file in your preferences
folder, the following dialog will appear:

Please go to the previous chapter, "Initial Setup" and continue there.

If bad things happen...
If HourWorld 2.53 encounters a corrupt "HourWorldΓäó Prefs" file, an error may
occur. You may force HourWorld to start fresh by opening the Preferences folder
in your System Folder, and then deleting the old file "HourWorldΓäó Prefs" before
trying to run HourWorld again. This should get your new copy of HourWorld
set up correctly, but any settings from previous versions will be lost.
